Effect of particle morphology on dust cloud dynamics

چکیده
Dust explosions threaten the solids process industry. Parameters influencing dust include particle size, chemical composition, and polydispersity; however, morphology is often overlooked. Studies show impacts cloud minimum ignition energy (MIE) via heat transfer because higher specific surface results in lower conductive resistance. However, not only factor impacting MIE; effect of on dynamics another important factor. This work focuses influence aerodynamics during MIE testing. A digital in-line holography method has been developed to measure particles an apparatus. Results concentration turbulence for irregularly shaped particles, implication discussed. The present aid understanding dynamics, which crucial determining explosion parameters such as resulting risk assessment.

Dust cloud dynamics during particle successive generations
Silane-based plasmas are widely used to deposit nanostructured silicon thin films or to synthesize silicon nanoparticles. Dust particle formation in Ar/SiH4 plasmas is a continuous phenomenon: as long as silane precursors are provided, new dust generations are formed. Successive generations can be monitored thanks to various electrical (Vdc/3H) and optical (OES, video imaging) diagnostics. Expe...
